Repair Your Credit
The Credit
Bureaus Don't Want You To Succeed (But I Do!)
The truth is, repairing your credit is something that is totally
legal, totally possible and is something you absolutely HAVE to
stick with - because getting a higher credit score is a factor of
disputing the negative items over time. The credit bureaus don't
want you to succeed and in fact, they've put many practices in place
to simply avoid your rights (as stated in the Fair Credit Reporting
Act "FCRA"). When I say "avoid", what I mean is that if you take
your legal right to
dispute negative items on your credit bureau
reports the 3 bureaus will delay, put you off and basically send you
form letters that make all but the most persistent go away and give
up (don't give up ever!) when attempting credit repair yourself.

Quick Tips
Nationwide consumer reporting companies are typically private
companies that are good at avoiding their consumer responsibilities
- however disputing information on your report is critical and
ongoing and the original creditor is not the place to start at all.
Each consumer statement and credit report trade line entry can be
manipulated with disputed information requests and staying
consistent during the dispute process. Before any dispute, revolving
accounts that are negative should be closed to minimize legal
exposure to bad credit repair practices. Where do you stand? It
really depends on your ability to monitor your credit scores on a
monthly basis. If you gamble and have outstanding markers a dispute
letter to the bureaus is better than attempting to work with the
casino, and the fair debt collection act protects you on most
accounts. Derogatory items should be disputed continuously until
removed with each consumer reporting company. Typically a debt
management plan is NOT the answer when attempting to repair your
credit.
